LS domain being disabled - Monday, November 02, 2009
We are in the process of shutting off the LS domain. If you are using an LS account to log in it may be deactivated. These computers must be migrated in order to avoid problems in the near future. This process is our highest priority, so please let us know if your computer is on the LS domain and it will be attended to.
(To check if your windows machine is on the BYU domain right click on my computer and go to properties, then computer name tab. The computer name should end with byu.local)

| | New Content Management System - Wednesday, September 23, 2009
Our office is rolling out a new content management system to help you manage your web presence more effectively. We are now using an open source system called DotNetNuke. It is used by various large corporations around the globe and has proven to be a very stable platform.
Currently, many websites in the college are managed by an in-house system. With the release of this new platform, we will work with each website content manager to migrate content. Over the next few weeks we will be contacting departments and labs, whose websites we host, to begin the migration process.

| | Migration to BYU Domain - Monday, June 01, 2009
Several colleges in the university are moving from individual domains to a collective BYU domain. This change will allow users to log in to college computers with their Route Y ID credentials. Faculty will also be able to manage their students access using these instructions: Using the Active Directory. If you are using a computer that is still logging in to "LS" please submit a service request so that your computer can be migrated. |
